The Heavy Hitters

The Heavy Hitters are comprised of the top jazz performers from Chicago, featuring amazing instrumentalists, incredible vocalists, and a driving rhythm section.  Truly representing the city’s top All-Stars.

A mix of rock, soul, funk, R&B and legendary classics. Unleashing its high-energy mix of second line funk and Motown soul—the necessary ingredients to entertain the room full of hip-shaking fans—The Heavy Hitters infectious onstage chemistry has added a true Chicago flavor to festivals, nightclubs, and special events.
The members of The Heavy Hitters pride themselves on ‘bringing their A game’ to every performance, whether it’s a wedding reception, a Mardi Gras ball, a convention, a fundraiser or an outdoor festival. The members of the band bring a ton of talent and years of experience to live performance and entertaining the audience. Built on a funky rhythm section and solid horn section, the band’s performances have led to being a first call band for that special party situation.

Members include Erin McDougall (vocals), Nanette Frank (vocals), Robert Baglione (guitar), Leandro Varady (piano), Victor Garcia (trumpet), Pat Mallinger (sax), Paul Wertico (drums), Eric Hochberg (Bass), Jeff Grossberg (harmonica) and many more.

 

History
With a heritage of working together since 1995, The Heavy Hitters have been thoroughly entertaining a wide array of audiences. This all-star Jazz ensemble is lead by Jeff “Hyper Harp” Grossberg, world renowned jazz harmonica player. Each player in the group has an incredible bio, having performed with the legendaries of the past and present.
